The books in this photo are some I find myself recommending to people ridiculously often, I loved reading all of these so much and they’ve stayed on my mind for months now 🥰

In fact, I’m actually banned by my partner for talking about two of these (Six Crimson Cranes and Jade Fire Gold), so I’ve tried to stop talking about them AS much in real life… but everywhere on social media is fine, right? 😂

The Darkening by @sunyamara is high up on my list because it sounds fantastic and this cover is stunning too!! Super big thank you to @readeatretreat @hodderscape for this proof copy, I’m planning on getting stuck into reading it later this month! Due out July 5th 🥰💜

It feels like I’d wanted to read A Magic Steeped in Poison by @judyilinauthor forever, and I’m so glad I did because this was a debut I seriously enjoyed! 5-star read for me 🥰💖

Hey loves, what have people been reading this weekend? ✨

My current read is The Stardust Thief by @chelsabdullah, and I wanted to say thank you again to @gambit589 @orbitbooks_uk because I’m loving this book so much! 🧡

I’ve been wearing this pin badge on my denim jacket too and it’s one of my faves, the detail is so amazing and I adore how it matches the cover 🥺

I’m only about 15% into this book so far but it’s one I already can’t believe is a debut, the characters have so much personality and I am ESPECIALLY loving the jinn character Qadir, who spends a lot of time as a shapeshifting lizard 🥺

Early warning to make sure this book is on your preorder lists, it comes out 19th May and I’ll likely have a 5-star review up before then (honestly I just love the world building and the characters so far!!) 🧡

What was the last debut book you read? ❤️

My last was Rebel Skies by @annseilin1 and I REALLY enjoyed it. I’ll have a full review up soon but this was such a unique world where the magic involves creating and altering paper spirits called shikigami, including an ADORABLE fox shikigami called Akane who stole my heart. 🥺🦊💖

This came out in the UK last Thursday, and I’ll definitely be grabbing a finished copy and reading the next book! If you loved the magic in Six Crimson Cranes and like the idea of sky cities… you’ll love this book too ❤️

This isn’t something I ever wanted to have to po

This isn’t something I ever wanted to have to post, but today we said goodbye to Phoebe after 16 years. She would have been 17 at the end of June, and even though I know that’s amazing for a dog, no time would have ever been enough.

She was with me all the way through high school, sixth form, my BSc degree, MSc… she was my best friend and I’ll miss her forever.

Thank you Phoebe, for being the best dog and the brightest part of our family. 💖

I’ll be quiet for a few days, but I’ll likely keep up with comments etc to distract myself.

(I’ve posted about this on Facebook and Twitter, this is just to let pals know I’ll be quiet who don’t have me on either, and also because I really needed to share a photo of her on here.)

RIP Princess 💖
