September’s OwlCrate theme was ‘Masters of Disguise’ and included items inspired by: Six of Crows, Harry Potter, The Diabolic and Shades of Magic.
No surprises, I really liked the box, again! Read on to see the full contents.
The Book
This month’s book was Mirage by Somaiya Daud, and no surprises but I yet again loved this copy. I reviewed the book back in August and loved it, but this copy also has a feather embossed on it and it’s just beautiful!
Mug
If it’s Harry Potter then I’ll love it, fact. This mug is just so beautiful and honestly the first mug that OwlCrate included last year was why I subscribed in the first place! I missed out on that one but I’m excited that OwlCrate will be including more in the future, the artwork by Cara Kozik is just perfect!
Foaming Bath Soak
This exclusive bath soak is from the shop Leeloo Soaps, inspired by The Diabolic. I have a huge collection of bath things mounting up from book boxes as I usually just take showers but I think one day I’ll just go crazy and have a bath full of them all, why not?
Lip Balm
My lips can’t handle winter weather so I’m super happy that book boxes include lip balm! This one is inspired by The Kiss of Deception and was created exclusively for OwlCrate subscribers by GeekFireLabs. It’s apple spearmint flavour and, well, I’m a fan.
Gloves
I genuinely needed new gloves for winter and it felt like OwlCrate read my mind when I saw these! Inspired by Six of Crows (and about the millionth reason I need to read the books!) and made by Team OwlCrate, I just love them.
This print is of Lila Bard from the Shades of Magic trilogy. Designed by Kirsty Carter, I haven’t read this series but the print is gorgeous!
Nail Varnish
As a pretty big fan of nail varnish I was pretty happy to see this included! It’s a promotional item for Grim Lovelies by Megan Shepherd (due out October 2nd – tomorrow!) and I already had my copy preordered. This is cute though, will definitely be trying it soon!
Overall
I don’t think… well, no, I know that there has never been an OwlCrate I haven’t liked yet and this was no exception to that! Personally I love the gloves and have already got a lot of use out of them but the mug, the book, the print… all are beautiful. Then the other items will be getting used too so I can’t complain!
Next Month – Lost in the Bookstore 📚
From OwlCrate themselves:
‘Have you ever dreamed of what it would be like to be locked in a bookstore after hours? The October box will be perfect for you! We’ve put together a box full of beautiful and useful goodies which are ideal for any avid reader.
We are also so excited to announce that for the first time in OwlCrate history, we will be including TWO brand new hardcover books! Both books will have EXCLUSIVE COVERS and both will be SIGNED by the authors! The books are very different in genre, but they are equally incredible reads.
Book one is a modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice, set in Brooklyn, NY! We fell in love with the author’s writing style, and still can’t get this story out of our heads!
Book two is an epic fantasy tale inspired by Japanese folklore. It follows an unlikely duo who must join forces in their hunt for an ancient magical artifact. We’re so happy we are able to feature both of these wonderful stories in our box!
The exclusive items in this box will help set the mood for your reading adventure, so get ready to settle in for an epic night of reading! Most of the items aren’t tied to specific fandoms, but will be perfect for getting cozy this fall!‘
Two signed books, two! I can’t wait for this box, and I’m super excited to see what items will be included for ‘getting cozy’ (a blanket, perhaps?).
