April’s FairyLoot box had items inspired by A Darker Shade of Magic, Shadow and Bone, Harry Potter, Nevernight, Children of Blood and Bone and A Curse So Dark and Lonely. Art for the box by Taratjah was gorgeous again!
Check out all the items below.
The Book
I love this edition of Nocturna so much! It has gorgeous blue sprayed edges and is signed by Maya herself. I also really love how FairyLoot always includes character art, this month’s being from @niru.sky. Check out my review for Nocturna here!
Enamel Pin
This is inspired by A Curse So Dark and Lonely and it kills me to admit but I haven’t actually read it yet… I really want to though, Beauty and the Beast retellings are forever a hit with me so this pin is still awesome!
Notebook
*The world’s sparkliest notebook! This is inspired by Tomi Adeyemi’s Children of Blood and Bone and designed by Stella Bookish Art (two notebooks from one artist in two different boxes this month — but I’m not complaining because I adore her art).
Tea Strainer
I recently started reading Nevernight and I’ve honestly fallen in love with it, so this little Mister Kindly tea strainer is a win with me! It goes awesome with a Nevernight inspired item I got from OwlCrate a while back too — a travel mug. It’s a FairyLoot-exclusive and I’ll be making use of him with lots of fruity teas over Summer!
Soap
The Harry Potter inspired item is this soap made by Pretty Suds. I do really like it, but personally I have like two years’ worth of soap thanks to book boxes now…
Tote Bag
Okay, I feel like the world is screaming at me to read the Grisha trilogy by now because I must have more merchandise for that then any other books! (Besides Harry Potter, anyway.) This tote bag features artwork by @morgana0anagrom on one side and lettering from @kdpletters — it’s beautiful! I adore the colours too.
Book Sleeve
Inspired by A Darker Shade of Magic, and designed by @monolimeart, this book sleeve is very much an improved design and it feels so sturdy!
Tarot Cards
FairyLoot has been including tarot cards for a while now, with gorgeous character art! This month’s is inspired by Six of Crows and features artwork from @artbyemmilinne.
Another reminder I should read SoC and the Grisha trilogy…
Overall
This box was a total win with me, definitely my favourite full FairyLoot for a while now. I love the exclusive cover for Nocturna, the tote bag, the pin, Mister Kindly… there isn’t really anything I saw and went ‘urgh’ to. Not that that’s a regular thing, I just particularly enjoyed this month’s box!
Next Month – Unlikely Romances 💗
From FairyLoot themselves:
‘This box is inspired by romances that you weren’t expecting to happen or couples with opposing personalities (hey, opposites attract!). We adore all of the items in this box and we know it is going to give you the feels.
You can expect items inspired by Shatter Me, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, The Cruel Prince, The Wrath and The Dawn, Flame in the Mist, The Selection, Girls of Paper and Fire and A Court of Thorns and Roses. All of the included items have been made exclusively for this box!
Our featured book of the month follows a story about a girl that is sent to other kingdoms with the objective of finding a suitor and each of the potential suitors is inspired by a mythical figure (think Cinderella meets King Arthur and Thor!). The edition that we will feature in this box is a FairyLoot exclusive - it will have SPRAYED EDGES and it will be SIGNED by the author!’
This book sounds like one I’m going to fall in love with, and The Cruel Prince and A Court of Thorns and Roses inspired items? Need. I also really want to read Girls of Paper and Fire as soon as possible (I mean, I have three copies sooo…). Definitely excited to see this, but owing to the book’s publication shipping won’t be until May 25th!
But then since next month both Finale and Aurora Rising are coming out I guess I can’t really complain… So many deliveries will be received!
