Hey loves! First reel in a while but one full of happy vibes so 🥹 If you’re new here I fell in love with Daughter of the Moon Goddess by @suelynntan late 2021, but I still remember reading a little bonus excerpt from @harpervoyager_uk around a couple of months before eARCs were available and falling in love with her writing that early 😭 Immortal is Sue’s fourth book and I’m so unbelievably glad I finally got to meet her when the book released in the UK on Thursday (go run and grab it if you haven’t already!!), the event with @elizachanwrites was hilarious and super fun! This first part of the reel is a small part of many many laughs 🥹🫶🏻💕 I got a fourth copy of Immortal signed also, but I’ll save that for a bit so I don’t spoil anyone 🥹 (it is also a ✨stunner✨ though!) The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea by Axie Oh, @litjoycrate edition! 🥹💖 QOTD: What was the last favourite book that you bought another copy of? Whether it’s a special edition, e-book or audio book! (Or what was the last book you reread if you can’t think of any 🥰) Obviously in this last week I’ve had a couple of copies of a new release arrive (will share after taking some new photos tomorrow!!) but when I saw Litjoy was doing a special edition of this stunning book I knew I had to grab it!! I was in Prague on holiday at the time but made sure I’d be in the hotel when it dropped so I could be 100% sure I preordered 🥹 (This was the new edge in my last post too, I adore the edges 🐉🥹💖) I also love how it’s annotated and has illustrations in, all of the artwork is just stunning really! If you haven’t read this book yet and you’re a fan of Ghibli inspired books then here’s another reminder to pick it up (and preorder Axie’s The Floating World, psyched for that duology!!) ✨ Hope everyone is doing well! QOTD: What’s a book from the last year you’ve read and adored? Doesn’t matter if it came out last year, was read last year or was a comfort reread! 💕 A wee bit late with this mini wrap up of some of my 2024 faves but better late than never, right? I didn’t get to read as many books as I’d hoped last year due to illness-related reasons, but there were some fabulous ones that either came out last year or I read last year! 🥹 Absolute stand outs for me included (in no particular order):

💫 Song of the Six Realms by Judy I. Lin I adored these books and the worlds/stories in them, they’re all living rent-free in my head still! 🫶🏻💕 (I would have included some more but I had to grab books quickly before I went to my mum’s for Christmas, I’ll make a part two this weekend when I get chance to take more photos! 💕) Excited for some follow-ups and new books from these authors too!! 🥰 ✨ I’m hoping to read more this year 🤞🏻 started off strong by finishing Nine Tailed by Jayci Lee (loved! ✨ Book Review: Immortal by Sue Lynn Tan ✨ Happy New Year’s Eve!! I’ve posted my review for @suelynntan’s Immortal today (thank you very much to @harpervoyager_uk for the beautiful ARC here!) but for the shorter version… I absolutely adored this story. If you’ve read any of Sue Lynn Tan’s previous books then you’ll know you can always expect rich world building, beautiful writing, a love interest that’s entirely swoon worthy and a whole lot of emotions, and Immortal definitely delivers on all of that! As this is a standalone, I don’t want to give away too much about the story but I will say that I fell head over heels for Zhangwei and the main character, Liyen. Liyen is a headstrong and determined protagonist, fighting for what’s right regardless of the danger. And the twists?! 🥹 absolutely heartbreaking at times, 100% recommend. ✨ QOTD: What’s something you’re looking forward to in 2025? Could be a book, holiday, anything 🫶🏻 I’m super looking forward to January because not only do I get to see my fave perform (three times in one week, Ateez week 🥹) but I’m going to an event in Liverpool with Sue Lynn Tan, and it’ll be in conversation with Eliza Chan!! 🥹💕 ✨ #immortal #immortalbysuelynntan #suelynntan #harpervoyager #harpervoyageruk #booksbooksbooks #fantasybooks #ukbookstagram #ukbookstagrammer

QOTD: What’s the last book you read that involve

QOTD: What’s the last book you read that involved a heist? Long overdue review here but at least I get to show off the gorgeous Illumicrate edition at the same time! 😍 Until We Shatter by Kate Dylan is the last book I read featuring a heist, and I really enjoyed it! This is a standalone fantasy set in a world split between those with magic and those who don’t have any magic. Our main character, Cemmy, is the daughter of a woman with magic (a Shade) and a man without it, making her a Hue. Hues are disliked in the world both by those without and with full magic, due to manipulation throughout history. As such, her mother tries to protect her by hiding her away, but her mother was punished before they escaped; which led to a debilitating (and expensive) illness. Cemmy turns to thievery to pay for her medicine, although that leads to her and her friends being forced to take part in a heist in the most dangerous place for Hues. Cemmy’s friends were one of my favourite parts of the book, because there was a strong sense of found family within the gang. Her friend Novi was particularly interesting, an old flame with a fiery personality who remains loyal to her friends no matter what. Cemmy herself was a little difficult to like at times, because the story is told in first person and she hates herself after an accident happened about a year before the book starts. The love interest we get introduced to is basically a ridiculously strong Hue with a super special power, he tricks Cemmy a fair bit which made him hard to warm up to (girl’s been through a lot before this, after all), but things make a lot more sense at the end of the story. Overall, the story was a fun read with lots of drama and action, great if you’re looking for a fast-paced read! I’d advise bookmarking the magic breakdown at the start though, just because the system itself is fairly complex! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ✨ #untilweshatter #katedylan #illumicrate #illumicrateunboxing #hodderscape #bookreview #ukbookstagrammer
