QOTD: What was the last book, film or TV show that had you crying, a lot? 🥲

First, a big thank you to @bookbreakuk @firstinkbooks for the proof copy here of When Haru Was Here by @thedustinthao!

I knew going into this that I would be crying, but genuinely I was crying so much by the very end that I actually struggled to read that! Heartbreaking doesn’t quite cut it. 😭

However, When Haru Was Here is a story where the main character, Eric, is suffering from grief in a unique way that has him imagining a boy, Haru, he’d met one day in Japan. Whilst in Japan, they have the cutest small amount time together and it clearly made enough of an impression on Eric that he can’t let go of the ‘what ifs’, especially as he leaves Haru to spend time with someone who, sadly, isn’t the best choice.

Eric starts to cope with his recent loss by imagining taking Haru all around Chicago, revisiting some of the places he’d visited with loved ones along the way.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but I will say that this is done an ingenious way. Thinking about it is actually making me tear up just whilst writing this review.

If you’ve recently lost someone, the story will likely hit home a lot harder, but although Eric goes through many difficult situations there’s an underlying theme of hope and healing throughout, which overall just leads to this book being absolutely worth picking up.

I’m so in love with @illumicrate’s edition of Guardians of Dawn: Ami!! It’s so pretty and I’m very excited to dive back into this world as I adored Zhara 🥹

I’ll share more photos once I’ve read the book but the edges and the naked cover are just as glorious as book one 🥰

Hey loves! Today I’ve shared by full review for @amberwrites88’s Of Jade and Dragons on my site but, in short, I really enjoyed this read!

I’m a huge fan of books involving trials, alongside stories with Mulan-esque features of hiding being a female; so, this book was pretty much certain to be one I enjoyed reading 🥰

Alongside that, Of Jade and Dragons has a murder mystery element to it which adds dramatically to the danger involved in Ying’s journey, the only thing that stopped me from reading this quicker was being too tired on a city break last week to read at night!

Thank you to @penguinplatform @penguinukbooks for the proof copy here, I also had to grab the finished copy for the super cute preorder incentives and then the @owlcrate and @illumicrate editions because… they’re super pretty, and I loved the book so I have zero regrets!

QOTD: What colours do you love to see on books? 💕

I’m a sucker for purple and blue books, and this @thelockedlibrary edition of The Spice Gate by Prashanth Srivatsa has to be one of the prettiest blue books I own now! 🥹

I’ve been interested in this since I saw the synopsis so I was very excited when TLL released their emoji hints, could tell it was this book instantly 😂

Day one was mostly just wandering around the Old Town of Prague but today we’re heading to the Charles Bridge, Lennon Wall and Prague Castle 🥰

I’m heading to Prague on Tuesday and these are the books I’ve picked out! There’s a chance I’ll finish Of Jade and Dragons before I go since I don’t have work before I leave, but either way this is basically what I’d love to read this week 🥹
