Following on from a trip to Ambleside Pier, we took a walk back into Ambleside and by the side of the River Rothay towards Rydal Water.
The centre of Ambleside itself is full of cute little sights, such as Bridge House below. Standing over Stock Beck, it was built in the 17th century originally as a way for the owners to cross over to the other side and store produce in.
Passing through Rothay Park, you cross over Stockghyll. Naturally, I snapped a little slow shutter action shot of some little falls here.
On this walk, you then continue to follow the River Rothay all the way to Rydal Waters. We came across a little robin as pictured below who was very willing to pose for a couple of photos!
It takes a pretty long time to then reach Rydal Waters, but once you get there it’s definitely worth it for the views…
Head on the trail above if you want to check out the caves, and I seriously recommend that you do because one of them is an easy accessible, expansive cave (and great for photos, of course!).
