So I got another FairyLoot! May’s box had items inspired by An Ember in the Ashes, The Winners Trilogy, The Remnant Chronicles and Throne of Glass. And as always, art for the box by Taratjah was gorgeous!
The Book
This month’s book was Onyx & Ivory by Mindee Arnett. It’s a fantasy with magic and drakes so I’m excited to get round to it! The FairyLoot edition also came with black sprayed edges, a signed book plate, a sticker and an exclusive character art card by Emily Haynes.
Bath Bomb
I got two bath bombs this month! I must admit that this Onyx & Ivory inspired bath bomb from Little Hearts Gift is so cute, it’s glittery too! But alas, I’m scared to use it, it’s too glittery and far too cute.
Lip Scrub
This lip scrub is inspired by The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson, and there were three different flavours included. My box came with the Dalbreck Lip Scrub which smells gorgeous, it’s mango flavoured and even though I usually don’t like mango this is awesome! This item is created exclusively by Geeky Clean, and it’s even vegan!
Tea
Am I the only English person who doesn’t like tea? Probably. Luckily though my boyfriend is a fan, so this has gone straight to him! Regardless, the packaging of this exclusive tea by The Tea Leaf Co is adorable.
Coaster
Love this exclusive coaster designed by Evie Bookish! It has a quote from The Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkowski and as you can see, it is gorgeous!
Book Sleeve
This book sleeve is absolutely beautiful, and it feels so great quality wise too to top it off! An exclusive designed by Reverie & Ink, it features a quote from Sabaa Tahir’s An Ember in the Ashes.
Page Flags
Throne of Glass inspired wyrd mark page flags created by FictionTea Designs! It’s no secret that I love Throne of Glass (I actually recently finished reading Queen of Shadows too… I don’t want the series to end! But these are just so cute, I’m torn between using them and keeping them looking pretty on my bookcase though.
Promotional Items
I love these additional little things FairyLoot usually includes, this month came with a Legendary tarot card and a bookmark for Smoke in the Sun (the upcoming Flame in the Mist finale).
Overall
I had to get this after seeing April’s box — I actually liked that box so much I ended up scouting the BST groups on Facebook for items! I don’t regret it, all of the items are beautiful again.
Next Month – Rebels in Ballgowns 🎭
From FairyLoot themselves:
‘We are so excited to reveal that the June theme is ‘Rebels in Ballgowns’! This box is inspired by stories where there are rebels dressed in ballgowns – we love books where the main character is on a secret mission but has to dress up, particularly if it involves a masquerade party!
The book we are featuring won’t be out until the end of July, so you’ll be getting it a whole month before everyone else! It will also be an exclusive hardcover edition (the standard UK edition is paperback) and it is stunning! It’s an addictive feminist fantasy read with immersive descriptions – we can’t wait for you to read this wonderful book! It will also come with a signed bookplate, letter from the author and other goodies.
In this box you will find items inspired by Legendary, Shatter Me, The Selection and Nevernight. There is an item in this box that we have never ever included in any of our previous boxes and we are SUPER excited for it! We’ve spent months working on this item and we think you guys are going to love it!’
I think I’m most excited for the book from next month’s box! I love receiving books early and I’m pretty sure I know what the book is too – it’s one I’m excited for if so and one I’ve been approved for on NetGalley!
