So today’s unboxing is for a brand new box from Illumicrate, called Afterlight! It’s their first quarterly romance box, and considering how much I’ve been loving the Illumicrate standard boxes this year I had to give it a try!
I really liked this first box, for just £18 (plus shipping) it’s a really great deal!

The Book
This quarter’s book was The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang. It came with sprayed yellow edges, a signed book plate and an author letter/poster.
I’m definitely intrigued to give the book a go, it sounds super cute off the synopsis!
Synopsis
When violinist Anna Sun accidentally achieves career success with a viral YouTube video, she finds herself incapacitated and burned out from her attempts to replicate that moment. And when her longtime boyfriend announces he wants an open relationship before making a final commitment, a hurt and angry Anna decides that if he wants an open relationship, then she does, too. Translation: She’s going to embark on a string of one-night stands. The more unacceptable the men, the better.
That’s where tattooed, motorcycle-riding Quan Diep comes in. Their first attempt at a one-night stand fails, as does their second, and their third, because being with Quan is more than sex: he accepts Anna on an unconditional level that she has just started to understand herself. However, when tragedy strikes Anna’s family, she takes on a role she is ill-suited for, until the burden of expectations threatens to destroy her. Anna and Quan have to fight for their chance at love, but to do that, they also have to fight for themselves.

Okay I love love love @felfiremoondesign‘s art and items so I love that we have this metal bookmark in the first Afterlight box! It says ‘I read romance books’ (from her ‘I read…’ series) and has a little symbol for Afterlight too!

I didn’t actually know that nail oil was a thing, but I love having my nails as long as possible so this’ll probably come in handy for me. It’s been created by @awildtaleshop.
Mason Jar
Okay so mason jars are adorable, as such I’m more than happy to own a few! This features art from @forensicsandflowers, with the wording of ‘shine bright’.

Heart-shaped, adorable metal straws. I love these!
Overall
One super cute first box! I’m looking forward to seeing where this subscription goes, personally really hoping for hardcovers in time too, purely because I prefer having hardcovers on display!
