I posted my review for this book on my site if you’re interested in reading a longer review but… I loved this so much. The world building was fantastic and that teamed up with so much glorious tension between Talasyn and Alaric was just *chef’s kiss* 😍

I’m a big fan of it, so I hunted down an extra copy of the @illumicrate August book here, Guardians of Dawn: Zhara by @sjaejones, when I noticed some had them 😂

I regret nothing. This book is GORGEOUS and two copies just means I get to display one as The Maiden Who Was Loved by Death, with that beautiful case 🥹

Love the contrast of the edges, and the design in general (another flower edge! 🪷), and then the endpapers are ridiculously lovely also 🥺

Design wise I’m probably more biased because I loved the cover already, but Illumicrate’s additions just make this all the more magical 💖

Andddd then I’m yet more biased because I adored this book.

💙 Mindbreaker by Kate Dylan 💙

Sorry for the late post but I’ve been speeding through Mindbreaker by @thekatedylan to get my review up for my part on today’s bookstagram tour ran by @pridebooktours! 💙

I seriously loved Mindwalker, the futuristic, post-apocalyptic world Kate created was something that felt scarily possible, and Mindbreaker is of a similar nature and in the same world, though instead of our main character being a human with tech, it’s someone who is given no choice but to have her body destroyed and her mind uploaded into a ‘cybotic’ body.

Indra was a brilliant main character, a girl who has never really been allowed to be herself even before the evil tech corporation got their hands on her. And the two main side characters? Nyx is an absolutely adorable friend, you can tell he’d really do anything for Indra, and I loved Tian so much but I won’t say why in this review.

Both Mindwalker and Mindbreaker are full of brilliant twists, but Mindbreaker had even more moments within that tugged on your heartstrings. Sil’s journey was difficult and not without loss, but Indra… I honestly would just like to hug her after finishing this book.

And, if you also enjoyed Mindwalker… absolutely go grab this book right now (it’s out today! 🎉) because you’ll get to say hi to some of the cast 🥹

Hey loves! So I finished reading Never a Hero today and I’m not okay 😂

I really loved Only a Monster, but Never a Hero was even better! The twists were done in such a fantastic way and I adored seeing the characters from Only a Monster again (ESPECIALLY AARON 😭), but the ending did have me in tears and how am I supposed to wait for book three with THAT ending?!

There’s a longer review on my blog if you wanna check it out (spoilers for book one though so be wary, but also if you haven’t read Only a Monster yet then go read it and pick up Never a Hero straight after!)
